Customizing Transactional Emails

Overview

When running an online store there are constant needs for Transactional Emails.  As a store owner you will need them for invoicing, welcoming new accounts, account changes, and even alerts.  Magento Go has predefined templates for a variety of circumstances available as default Transactional Emails.  Once this feature is set up and customized, it will perform these tasks for you automatically.

For field descriptions, see Configuration: General - Design - Transactional Emails

Defining a Transactional Email Template:

You must define transactional emails as most templates carry dummy phone numbers and emails accounts and bear the Magento logo.  Minor or major customization can be added, but your company information must be added to brand your web store.

To add a Template:

  1. In the Admin Panel, select System > Transactional Email.
  2. Click [Add New Template] to be redirected to the New Template page.
  3. Select a default template from the predefined transactional email bank, such as New Order in Template field.
